STUDENT BODY FORMED TO AID CONSERVATISM

As one of the first conservative student organizations in Harvard a chapter of the American Liberty League has been organized and will hold its first meeting in Sever 11 at 4 o'clock this afternoon. Ex-Congressman Robert Luce '82 will speak at that time on the Banking Act now pending in Congress.

Myron A. Wick '37 has taken a leading part in the formation of the now body. His principal note of emphasis is that it is to form a strictly non-partisan group.

Originally formed in the summer of 1934, the American Liberty League has opposed President Roosevelt's monetary program and consistently protested against the enormous increase of expenditures by the Federal Government.

Dedicated to stability in governmental monetary policies, it will be the purpose of the Harvard chapter to procure prominent speakers from all political parties.

Ex-Congressman Luce was defeated in 1934 by Mayor Russell, who was running at that time on a "Support the President" platform.
