EASTERN RUGBY UNION ADOPTS NEW MEASURES

At a meeting of the Eastern Rugby Union of America held in New York over the weekend a new constitution was adopted to help boost the game in America. At the same time measures were adopted for arranging future tours of English rugger teams in this country.

Delegates of Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and other Eastern clubs and college teams attended the conference. New officers, mostly university men, were elected as follows:

President, Philip S. deQ. Cabot, coach of the Harvard team; vice-presidents, Edward T. Dickinson, formerly of Yale and now of the New York Rugby Club; George U. Harvey; secretary, Albert Woodley, of the New York Rugby Club; treasurer, Lawrence Bogert, formerly of Yale.

A board of governors of the Union will be elected from representatives of all the member clubs.

Also at the meeting the possibility was mentioned that the famous New Zealand "All Blacks" team might come here next season after their tour of the British Isles. An American Union was discussed, but the plan was discarded as the sport is at present concentrated on the Eastern seaboard.
