LIBERAL CLUB STARTS TO OUST HEARST'S NEWS

As a part of the nation-wide-campaign against Hearst policies and methods of propaganda, the Liberal Club has formed a committee to circulate a petition urging the University Theatre to eliminate Hearst Metrotone News from its program.

The petition bears the legend "The undersigned respectfully request the management of the University Theatre to remove from its programs within a reasonably short period, the Hearst Metrotone News because we feel that its interpretation of news is neither fair nor in the best interests of the of the American people."

Radcliffe has adopted the idea and will use the same form to gain signatures form that portion of the University's patronage.

The Harvard committee is composed of Victor H. Kramer '35, chairman, John F. M. Fitzgerald '37, John K. Musgrave, Jr. '36, A. Jerome Himmelhoch '38, William B. Loring '35, and Ely J. Cahn '37.

Kramer issued the following statement last night: "Here is a chance for college students to do something toward building sane, democratic public opinion by registering our disapproval of Mr. Hearst's particular brand of Yahooism. To those who feel that the same objections apply to other newsreels, we can only say that beginning must be made, and that the others may profit by this example.'
