Five hundred and fifty Freshmen have been admitted to the Houses in the first assignment, according to an announcement from University Hall yesterday. This leaves more than 250 men yet to be placed.
It is planned to open Dudley Hall, which has been closed this year, thus adding accomodations for about 100 men to the 40 vacancies remaining in the Houses, all of which are priced above $380.
The 819 applicants this year exceeds the number for any previous class and will necessitate refusal for most of those men now living at home. A few upperclassmen have been allowed to enter the Houses in rooms which are to be vacated by members of their classes.
