On Saturday the Varsity tennis team will meet Columbia on the Divinity Courts. Harvard will go into the match overwhelmingly favored to defeat the Lions.
Headed by Frank W. Jones '35, captain, the squad has been out on the Divinity courts every possible day this week in a last minute drive to reach top form. Practice has consisted of several hours play every day, under the direction of Coach Harry Cowles.
The squad tournament has been going on for the last week and is nearing completion, but playing assignments for the first match are being made on the basis of the players' ability as Cowles has seen it this week.
Number one position will be played by Captain Jones; number two is Franklin P. Whitbeck '35; three, Germain G. Glidden '36; four, Summer Rodman '35; five, J. Burke Wilkinson '35; and six, Robert L. Bentley, II '36. The doubles combinations will be formed from these six men.
