BROUDY, CASSIDY, AND GRISWOLD WIN AWARDS

Three awards for academic work, totalling $275, were announced yesterday as having been made to one graduate student and two undergraduates. The prizes were awarded as follows:

Harry S. Broudy 3G, of Milford--the Edwin DoT. Bechtel Prize of $100, open to graduate and undergraduate students in philosophy for an essay on the philosophy of William James, for an essay entitled "The Relation of James's Pluralism to Personal Existence."

Richard T. Cassidy '35, of Marblehead--Susan Anthony Potter Prize of $75, open to undergraduates for the best essay on a subject dealing with the Spanish literature of the Golden Age, entitled "Antonie Hurtado de Mendoza: his Life and Works."

Herbert G. Griswold '38, of South Euclid, Ohio--The Elizabeth Wilder Prize of $100, for the Freshman needing financial aid who passes the highest examination in elementary German at the midyear examination.
