Meiklejohn on Injury List for First Home Game of Harvard Team Which Has Won Four Out of Five Starts

Beaten only once in five starts, the Harvard Rugby Club will meet, in its first home contest, Long Island University's first-improving fifteen on Soldiers Field at 2.30 o'clock today.

Minus the services of Don Meiklejohn, benched with a leg injury, the Crimson will nevertheless put a strong team on the field. Good performances are expected from King Howard, Butch Fisher, Bob Brooks, and Hayden Channing.

Channing, a sophomore who gained his proficiency through his playing at Canford School, England, will take care of the stand-off half position. Fisher and Brooks are graduate students who formerly played with Princeton. Howard has ably covered the right inside for all the games so far this year.

Thought it has been organized for only two years, the Long Island Club will field a team that averages 175 pounds in its forward line, a team that has improved fast under competition with New York clubs. They use a varied style of play, making frequent use of the on-side kick, and inasmuch as they are coached by a graduate of McGill and Oxford. Arthur Yates, they use plenty of lateral passes.
