In a dull, poorly played game the Freshman baseball team played a 4-4 tie with Newton High School. The game was called at the end of the seventh inning on account of darkness. For the Freshmen, David W. Shean was the batting star with two hits out of four trips to the plate. G. Castodi featured for Newton with a home run down the right field foul line. It was the first home game for the Freshman, and the first that they have not won. During the Spring vacation, the '88 team had a very successful tour of the south, winning four straight games.
