Despite a revamped lineup, with Dick Fletcher moved up to forward, and Bill Gray returning to the lineup, the Crimson cagers were swamped by the men of Morningside Heights to the tune of 52 to 29.
Gray, apparently recovered from an ankle injury, was high scorer for the Crimson with 11 points, but he was completely outclassed by the vicious Lions, two of whom scored 15 points apiece, and one 13.
Harvard was outclassed from the start, trailing 25 to 14 at the half, but this was Heaven compared to the first agonizing minutes of the game when the Feslermen trailed 15 to 1. The Blue and White led by Crowley, Bill Nash, Ganzenmuller, showed clearly that the Lions deserved the tie for League leadership they gained by the victory.
The summary: Score--Columbia 52, Harvard 29. Goals--Ganzenmuller 7, Nash 6, Gray 5, Casey 3, Tomb 3, Crowley 2, Moser 2, Vollmer 2, Kollinites 1. Free throws--Mason 2, Stephenson 2, Tomb 2, Casey 1, Crowley 1, Fletcher 1, Ganzenmuller 1, Gary 1, Nash 1. Time--two 20-minute periods.
