‘I Am Really Sorry’: Khurana Apologizes for International Student Winter Housing Denials
Charles R. Allen, of Greenfield, Arthur Oakes, of Oak Park, Illinois, and F. Skiddy von Stade, Jr., of Westbury, Long Island, have been elected president, vice-president, and secretary-treasurer, respectively, of the Freshman class, it was announced last night by Shaun Kelly '36, chairman of the election committee.
Over 900 ballots were cast this year, which is 250 more than voted last. This as well as the unusual number of petitions for additional nominees, is an indication of the great amount of interest the Freshmen have taken in their baptism to college politics.
The Student Council decided not to disclose the number of votes registered for each class officer or for the unsuccessful candidates.
Allen prepared at Exeter, and captained the undefeated Freshman hockey team. Oakes graduated from the Oak Park High School, and was the football captain. Both he and Allen are members of the Union Committee. Von Stade is a graduate of St. Pauls School, and is a well-known polo player. He was the captain of the Freshman poloists this winter.
The next seventeen nominees were ranked as follows: Robert Sullivan, John H. Gardiner, George F. Roberts, Frank Keppel, Richard O. Ulin, John L. Dampeer, Cortney C. Smith, Peter T. Brooks, William Batt, William J. Clothier, Sherman P. Cotton, Henry R. Ames, Albert Stickney, Jr., Herbert L. Furse, Peter P. Hale, Aaron J. Himelhoch, and Dario C. Berizzi.
