Forty thousand dollars will again be allotted to the Temporary Student Employment Plan for the next academic year, it was announced last night by Russell T. Sharpe '28, Secretary for Student Employment. This sum has been budgeted annually since 1932.
Members of the classes of 1936, 1937, and 1938 who will live in the Houses next year are eligible to apply for work. Application blanks will be available at the Student Employment Office on April 1, and must be filed by May 15.
More than two hundred students annually have been given work under the plan. The jobs assigned are entirely within the University, in the libraries, museums, administrative offices, laboratories, and mail and monitor services. The students are paid at the rate of fifty and sixty cents an hour; the money is credited to the term bill. The average earnings for each man were $202 last year, and will be about the same this year. The maximum is $300 for any student.
