Amy Lowell Collection Made Complete by Large Addition

Poetry Room's New Purchases Make It Foremost in Modern Poetry

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

With the purchase of over 250 new volumes of modern English and American poetry, the Poetry Room of Widener Library has now brought up to date the collection left to it by Amy Lowell, according to an announcement yesterday by George M. Kahrl 4G., curator of the Poetry Room.

Since Miss Lowell's death in 1925, no books have been added to her private library. The addition of these new books, however, makes the Poetry Room's collection of modern poetry the equal of any in this country. The books have been purchased from the income of the endowment given in 1931 by Henry Harkness Flagler, in memory of George Edward Woodberry.

The curator also announced that henceforth the Room would be open daily, except Sundays, from 10 to 12 o'clock, as well as from 2 to 5. Students may have free access to the Room's famous collection of manuscripts and letters.
