Meal prices in all of the University dining halls will remain the same price next year as they are now according to a tentative announcement yesterday by Aldrich Durant '02, Business Manager of the University. It is also expected that there will be a surplus sufficient to equal the $40,000 now given to the scholarship fund for student aid.
Between September 24 and December 31 a little over 252,000 meals were served out of the Smith Hall kitchen for the five Houses near the River, while the whole system has been serving about 10,000 meals everyday. The margin on each meal served is about one cent and the average cost per meal is 53.8 cents.
