Bruce Bliven editor and president of the New Republic will discuss the New Deal at a meeting of the Liberal Club this evening at eight o'clock in the Lowell House Common Room. All members of the University are invited to attend.
Mr. Bliven spoke last night on journalism and the New Deal at a dinner meeting of the Unitarian Club in Boston. He deplored a lack of freedom in modern journalism and maintained that such freedom as still exists is steadily diminishing.
Concerning the policies of the administration, he believes that the New Deal is a temporary measure which will be discarded when outmoded. Roosevelt's present course, he maintains is not decisive, nor have many of his promises been fulfilled.
At his last appearance before a Harvard audience, Mr. Bliven discussed the presidential campaign and predicted an easy victory for Roosevelt.
