Dr. Roderick MacDonald, assistant professor of Zoology, has handed in his resignation to University Hall and is leaving before March to take up his new duties as director of the Philadelphia Zoological Gardens. Professor MacDonald received both his B.S. and Ph.D. at Glasgow University.

He plans to develop the scientific and educational value of the zoo to an extent that has hitherto been little attempted, and has long lamented the opinion that is usually held in regard to the intrinsic value of the menagerie in the park.
