MacLEISH TO DELIVER POETRY FUND ADDRESS

Famous Poet Will Give Annual Morris Gray Speech Wednesday Afternoon in Sever

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Tomorrow afternoon Harvard will have an opportunity to hear one of America's leading contemporary poets when Archibald MacLeish gives the Morris Gray Poetry Fund's annual lecture in Sever 11. The talk, which will begin at 4.30 o'clock, will be open to all members of the University and to others especially interested.

Mr. MacLeish will read from his own poetry and will follow this with comments upon both the poems which he has just read and upon similar contemporary work. Since his literary career has included criticism as well as creative writing, it is expected that the discussion will embrace far more than an exclusive consideration of his own works.

The poet, who graduated from Yale in 1915, was awarded an LL.B by Harvard in 1919. Among his more notable writings have been "The Hamlet of Archibald MacLeish," published in 1928. "The Happy Marriage," his first published verse. "The Pet of Earth," and "Streets in the Moon." In addition to these he has been a contributor to the Yale Review, the New Republic, and Transition. He has also written a play. "Nobodaddy," which appeared in 1925.
