Almost 700 students have signed the petition asking the University to allow Freshmen to cat in the Houses without extra charge. Constantly increasing, the number of signatures have gone far beyond the original expectations of getting only 500.

Upperclassmen and Yardlings have combined in swelling the effort to get the makes it necessary for the first-year man to pay doubly if a friend in one of the Houses invites him to dinner. All Freshmen are forced to pay for Union meals whether they eat there or not.

Copies of the petition are posted in the Union and outside of some of the House dining halls. When the house masters next meet, they will discuss the question and make their decision.
