FIRST MEETING OF SKI MEN IN LOWELL COMMON ROOM MONDAY EVENING

MUCH MATERIAL EXPECTED FROM FRESHMAN CLASS

Coach Charley Proctor and Captain H. Adams Carter '37 will officially open the skiing season Monday night at 7.30 o'clock in the Lowell House Common Room at a meeting open to all ski enthusiasts.

Both of them will speak, outlining the season's plans. There will also be a movie on skiing.

Unlike other sports, Freshmen are eligible for the Varsity Ski Team. One of the primary purposes of the meeting is to find out what material the class of '39 has to offer. Last year the Freshman class supplied well over half the members of the team, and this year's hopes are based largely on the many Sophomores who gained valuable experience last season in the various races.

Again this year freshmen will be able to ski along with some other sport and get credit for a weekend of skiing. If the snow is good around Cambridge, they may take an afternoon off and go skiing instead of swimming or fencing.

This year's skiers who turned in good performances last year and are expected to be out performing for the team again include from the class of '37 Dunbar Carpenter, Charles S. Rogers and Robert H. Shaw. The Sophomore class has Frederick S. Bigelow, Peter T. Brooks, David Emerson, Henry W. Locke, Thomas Motley 2d, and Harold T. White. William F. Loomis '36 is also expected to compete again.
