JAYVEES DEFEAT 1939 PROVIDENCE PLAYERS

34-7 Is Verdict in Football Game Here; Parquette, Lewenstein, Stuart, and Roberts Crimson Scorers

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Avenging past setbacks, the Junior Varsity went out to win yesterday and succeeded in overwhelming the Providence College Freshmen 34-7. Lewenstion was the individual star of the game scoring two goals and tossing a pass that was directly responsible for a third score.

Three whole teams were used by the Crimson forces, one of them being the eleven that has been drilled in the Princeton plays for the last week. This team, using these plays which they have been drilled in for only a week, scored 21 plays in eight minutes over the scrappy but outplayed Friars team.

The first two goals were made by Bill Parquetto and George Roberts on line bucks of four and seven yards, but after that the Lowenstein forces monopolized the scoring. Their first score came when Stuart snagged a pass on the left from Lowenstein who was in the quarterback position, while the next two the team leader made himself.
