A prize orchestral competition and a new chorus organized by Dr. Archibald T. Davison '05, for many years conductor of the Glee Club, are the two latest projects in musical circles, it was announced last night.
The orchestral competition is open to all undergraduates. The outstanding manuscript will be performed at the annual Spring concert of the Pierian Sodality Orchestra which is widely attended by Boston music critics.
Dr. Davison's now chorus is designed especially for men and women in the Graduate School of Education although its connection with Music 3 does not preclude the possibility of undergraduate members.
According to Dr. Davison, the Wednesday evening meetings throughout the year will provide practice in conducting as well as the chance for study and practice with the more famous choral music. The first meeting will take place Wednesday evening, at 7 o'clock in Sever 11. No voice trials will be held.
