Another Freshman class opens its four-year Harvard Athletic career as Jim MacDonald's soccer charges go out on the field against Taber Academy here this afternoon.

During the course of the year 18 other 1939 teams will take part in foreign engagements under the aegis of the H. A. A.

As an organization Coach MacDonald's men are phenomenally weak on defense and correspondingly strong on the attack. To offset the inabilities of his backs to get their feet squarely on the ball, Mac has a forward line, whose members all possess shooting ability well above the average of Freshman at this stage of the season.

The game is at 1.45 o'clock. The 1939 lineup: g., Williams; r.f., Sheridan; l.f., Bradley; r.h., Brisbane; c.h., Lewis; l.h., Phillips; r.o., McNeil; r.i., Johnson; c., Harnden; l.i., Johanson; l.o., Sinnott.

Varsity Plays

Also on the Business School Field this afternoon Coach Carr's Varsity will meet the Boston Professionals in a return informal engagement. Captain Dorman's team, whose season opens with Tufts here Wednesday, has improved its defense during the past week, but still lacks a scoring punch.
