FLYING COURSES WILL BE HELD FOR AVIATORS

Two ground school courses, primarily for men who already know hew to fly, are to be given by the Flying Club at the East Boston Airport. These two courses will cover the fundamentals of navigation and meteorology.

The two courses, which are government approved, will be given twice a week at night. They will cover the needs of anyone who wishes to pass the written examinations for transport liceuse.

The course in navigation will include radio beam flying, practical problems which come up in cross country flights, map-reading, and course plotting, as well as other phases it navigation.

The meteorology course will explain such problems as the receiving of radio weather broadcasts, ice formation, hazards to aircraft, low coilings, fogs, and cyclone storms.

There will be prizes for the students receiving the two highest grades in the course. First prize will be an hour and fifteen minute cross country and navigation fight in a fleet. Trainer equipped for blind flying with a radio. Second prize will be a 45 minute flight.

About 18 of the members of the Flying Club are expected to sign up.
