Developments and the conclusion of the Callaway Socks Case were rather tame yesterday as George Ryan, petty thief caught in 52 Mt. Auburn Street on Saturday, October 5, pleaded guilty of larceny of property from Samuel R. Callaway '36 and was given a suspended sentence of two years in the house of correction.
Callaway appeared in court along with Frederick R. Mosely '36, Winfield A. Huppuck, 2L, apprehender of the thief, and Dan Rooney, janitor at 52 Mt. Auburn.
Ryan has a criminal record, having been convicted of five other larcenies, the first in a Tech dormitory in 1927. In giving a suspended verdict yesterday the court remarked that it was "rather against its better judgment".
