Latest in the flood of statistics dealing with the health, wealth, and bedtime hours of the Freshman Class, figures released yesterday show that of the members of 1939, 277 are sons of Harvard men.
Including these students 577 have fathers who attend a college or university. This leaves 406 Freshmen, 42.2% of the Class, whose sires attended no institute of higher learning.
Yesterday's statistics conclude with a summary of the geographical division of Yearlings by states. Massachusetts leads with 146 sons. While New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania follow with $8, 12 and 10 men respectively.
