TOURNAMENT LIKELY TO REPLACE HOUSE HOCKEY

GAMES WILL BE PLAYED ON RINKS SECURED FOR OCCASION

Any aspiring House pucksters who may have been practicing during the vacation in the hope of finding two shiny new rinks awaiting them at Soldiers Field on their return are to be disappointed, for the trend of events during the holidays has caused the dispersion into thin air of both the proposed rinks and the schedule.

"The H.A.A. has been looking into the expense of supporting the rinks, and it is quite unlikely that the necessary money will be available," announced Adolph W. Samborski '25, director of intramural athletics, yesterday. "However, if the rinks are not built, a tournament schedule will be drawn up, to be played off by the teams on any rinks which can be procured on occasion for the playing." Whence those "rinks on occasion" will be procured was not included in the announcement, and the possibility of organizing games on the Charles again loomed large.

A meeting of the interhouse hockey committee, composed of one member from each House, appointed by the athletic representative of that House, is to b held today at 1.30 o'clock in the Hygiene Building to salvage whatever is left of the plans for the season. Mr. Samboraki stated that he will get the final word of the H.A.A. on the matter this morning and the situation will be turned over to the committee.
