Suffering their that defeat in a number of year; at the hands of a Tufts team, the Harvard Varsity matmen were pinned with a 17-11 score Wednesday night in Medford before a group of 650 spectators. The Freshmen however trounced their first year rivals to the tune of 21 to 12 in the preliminary matches.
Smith victory in the heavy weight encounter gave Tufts the winning margin in the Varsity matches and only Ed Sullivan's inexperience prevented the crippled Crimson eight from landing on top.

118 pound class: Pagan (T) defeated Edward J. Petrenik '37 (H), by decision.
126 pound class: Howland B. Stoddard '36 (H) defeated Devot (T) by fall. Time 2 min., 20 sec.
135-pound class: Capt. State (T). won by default.
145-pound class: W. Brooks Cavin, Jr. '37 (H) defeated Scabori (T) by decision.
155-pound class: Hingston (T) defeated Gerard J. Piel '37 (H) by decision.
165-pound class: Smith (T) defeated Donald B. Armstrong, Jr. '37 (H) by decision.
175-pound class: Richard W. Emory '36 (H) defeated Johnson (T) by decision.
Heavyweight: Smith (T) defeated Ed Sullivan '36 (H) by decision.
