In the first contest of the winter term Saturday night, the Crimson Varsity and Freshman mat teams trounced their Bruin rivals with heavy winning scores. The meet, which was held in Providence, resulted in an 18-6 victory for the Varsity and a score of 25 1-2--6 1-2 in favor of the Freshmen.

Most of the points for the latter team were chalked up as a result of falls obtained by Henry R. Ames, John C. Hackness, and William T. Glendinning.

The Varsity summary:

118-pound class: Beaulico (B) defeated Edward J. Petrenik '37 (H), by decision.

126-pound class: Howland B. Stoddard '36 (H) defeated Dicesaro (B), by decision.

135-pound class: Donald V. McGranahan '35 (H) defeated Zooloomian (B), by decision.

145-pound class: W. Brooks Cavin '35 (H) defeated Johnson (B), by decision.

155-pound class: Staniels (B) defeated Gerard J. Piel '37 (H), by decision.

165-pound class: Donald B. Armstrong, Jr. '37 (H) defeated Broomhead, by decision.

175-pound class: Richard W. Emory '35 (H) defeated Pease (B), by decision.

Heavyweight: David A. Tufts '37 (H) defeated Olson (B), by decision.
