House football will start tomorrow afternoon with a meeting on the House field. There will be eight teams in the round-robin House league this fall, for each House has been assigned a coach, including Brooks House.
A large turnout is expected, according to Adolph W. Samborski '25, Director of Intramural Athletics, inasmuch as about 225 men took part in the House games last fall. The first games will be on Thursday and Friday, October 4 and 5, two being played each day.
At the conclusion of the round robin schedule of 28 games, the winning House eleven will play the winning Yale College eleven on Soldiers Field on Friday, November 16.
Edward S. Amazeen '31 will coach the Lowell House team for the second year, Harold T. K. Yap 2L will have charge of Eliot House, while Kirkland will be under the leadership of Bernard Fox 6G. Other coaches as announced by Samborski are Warren Sturgis 3L, William Powers, James A. Potter '34, Warren Casey '34, and William F. Brooks 3L. Powers is a former Dartmouth varsity football player, while Casey was Harvard's regular center last fall.
