Student Council Continues Policy of Fund Collection

Unusually Large Total of $1400 Is Taken at Freshman Registration

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

In pursuance of a policy of other years, the Student Council is again holding its annual collection of funds during registration at Memorial Hall.

This year, however, some of the money thus collected will be used to continue the scholarship program which the Council initiated last year. These scholarships are given on a basis not entirely academic. Extra-curricular activities are considered and one of the purposes of the plan is to give the chance for ambitious men who otherwise would be unable to complete their college course.

The Student Council collected in the vicinity of $1400 in cash during the Freshman registration yesterday and almost as much in pledges. This receipt for the first day compares very favorably with last year.
