FOURTEEN APPOINTED TO FACULTY OFFICES

SANDUSKY AT BIOLOGY LAB AS ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

Fourteen appointments were announced last night at University Hall. Five of the new men will be in the Department of Sociology, two in History, three in Philosophy, and the rest in scattered Departments.

The appointments are as follows:

Oris Edward Sandusky, of Cambridge, Mass., to be BAssistant Director of the Biological Laboratories 1934-35. 1924-26 Rhodes Scholar at Oxford; A.B. Univ. of Washington, 1924, A.M. 1924; A.M. Harvard 1928; 1931-33 graduate work at Harvard; 1933-34 General assistant in the Department of Physiology at Harvard.

Department of Sociology

Niles Carpenter of Buffalo, N. Y., to be lecturer in Sociology for the first half of 1934-35. Ph.D. Harvard 1920. Now at the University of Buffalo.

John Bailenger Knox 1G., of Montreat, N. C., to be assistant in Sociology and Tutor in the Division of Sociology 1934-35. Davidson College 1930.

Herbert Day Lamson, 1G., of Exeter, N. H., to be an assistant in Sociology and tutor in the Division of Sociology 1934-35. Ph.B. Brown 1924, A.M. 1925.

Robert King Merton, 3G., of Philadelphia, Pa., to be an assistant in Sociology and tutor in the Division of Sociology 1934-35. A.M. Harvard 1933.

Emile Benoit Smullyan, '32, of New York, N. Y., to be an assistant in Sociology and tutor in the Department of Sociology 1934-35. A.M. Harvard 1932.
