Sixty schools, led by Andover, Class A winner last year, have entered a total of 651 athletes in the 49th Annual Harvard Interscholastic Track and Field meet which will be held in the Stadium today with the events starting at 1 o'clock.
Class A Entrants
Andover, the winner last year, leads in the number of entries in the Class A competition with 34 Trackmen signed up for duty. Close on the heels of the Blue comes its age-old rival, Exeter with 31 entries. Andover easily took the meet last year with a total score of 56 1-2 points to Exeter's 36 1-2.
Nineteen schools have entered 240 athletes in Class B to fight for the title won by Medford last year. Twenty-seven schools have entered 256 athletes in Class C in an attempt to wrest the crown from Beverly.
The scholastic meet, with the multicolored uniforms of the 60 schools is annually one of the brilliant spectacles that adorns the Stadium. Harvard's major interest centers around the Class A battle and Eddie Farrell will scan the results carefully in order to get an idea of the freshman team that he may expect next year.
