AQUATIC CHAMPIONSHIP MAY COME TO HARVARD

MEET HELD HERE SUCCESSFULLY IN 1930

Swimmers, breaststrokers, free stylers, divers, in short outstanding mermen in every event -- will pour into Cambridge next year for the National Collegiate Championship Meet if the University's invitation is accepted by the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

A favorable reception, in all probability, awaits the invitation extended in behalf of the University by the Committee on the Regulation of Athletic Sports.

For two days then, next spring, March 29 and 30, Weissmullers and Stowells from the foremost colleges of the country will paddle in the Harvard pool in quest of intercollegiate honors.

Nor will it be the first time that Harvard has been the host to the participants in this annual contest. In 1930 the intercollegiate championship meet was held here, which, by the way, gave the newly constructed Harvard tank its first taste of competition.

Many records, some of which still withstand all onslaught, were set up at that time by such swimmers as Al Schwartz of Northwestern, and Kojac, the Rutgers ace.

Included in the roster of colleges represented in the 1930 meet and who may be expected to enter their pride and joys in next year's contest in addition to Harvard, are: M.I.T., Northwestern, Columbia, University of Pennsylvania, Stanford, Brown, Dartmouth, Michigan, Princeton, Rutgers, Bowdoin, N.Y.U., Fordham, Amherst, Springfield, Syracuse, and McGill.
