EIGHTEEN MEN ON HARVARD FACULTY PICKED TO A.A.A.S.

Harvard Leads Other Universities in Number of Men Elected--Schlichter Among New Members

The names of eighteen members of the Harvard faculty were among the list of 70 new elections to the American Academy or Arts and Sciences, announced yesterday after its annual meeting.

In addition to the men who were elected to the Academy this year the following officers were chosen from Harvard faculty members: President, George Howard Parker, Professor of Zoology and Director of the Zoological Laboratory; Vice-President for Class II, Walter Bradford Cannon '96, George Higginson Professor of Physiology; Vice-President for Class III, Edwin Francis Gay, professor of Economic History; Vice-President for Class IV, Arthur Stanley pease '02, professor of Latin and Walter Channing Cabot Fellow; Recording Secretary, Walter Eugene Clark '03, Wales Professor of Sanskrit and editor of the Harvard Oriental Series.

Other elections from the Harvard faculty were as follows: Edgar Anderson, Franzo H. Crawford, Chester L. Dawes, Jacob P. Den, John F. Ebersole, Sterling P. Fergusson, Cyrus H. Fiske, Henry Jackson, Jr., Matt B. Jones, Donald H. Menzel, Richard S. Meriam, Harry R. Mimac, Leroy M. S. Miner, Arthur E. Monroe, Robert H. Pfeiffer, William C. Quimby, Sumner H. Schlicter, Carle C. Zimmerman.
