HARVARD SWEEPS BOTH DIVISIONS OF G.B.I. MEET

Ten Varsity and eight Freshman records were established as Harvard won the finals of the Greater Boston Intercollegiates Saturday afternoon, but this startling result was mainly due to the fact that the meet was being run in the metric system for the first time.

The only old records that fell were in the 440 where Captain Jack Morse ran out the old distance to establish a new G.B.I. quarter-mile mark of 49 2-5 seconds, and in the Varsity discus where Johnny Healey skimmed the plate 156 feet, 6 3-4 inches, shattering G.B.I. and Harvard records, both formerly held by his teammate, Johnny Dean.

The powerful Harvard team rolled up a total of 108 points, more than doubling the second place scores of 45 amassed by B.C. and Northeastern. The Crimson cubs also won their meet with 99 points compared to the 67 1-2 gained by M.I.T. which finished second.

Despite the Varsity record breaking, the finest individual performance was that turned in by Emile Dubiel, Freshman field event star who was personally responsible for 22 of Harvard's points. On Friday he took the pole vault, placed second in the javelin and third in the shot and Saturday he came through again by winning the discus and the broad jump.
