Garber Privately Tells Faculty That Harvard Must Rethink Messaging After GOP Victory
Although no word had been received by the University last night concerning the arrangements for the funeral of Dean LeBaron Russell Briggs '75, Harvard was beginning preparations for a final impressive tribute to one of her greatest sons.
It is probably that the services will be held Friday afternoon in the New Memorial Church and that the attendance will be limited to friends of the late Dean. President Conant will arrive from Washington where he has been attending the meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, on Friday noon, in time for the services.
President Roosevelt, in college during Dean Briggs' administration, yesterday sent a letter of condolence to Mrs. Briggs and her son, who are still in Milwaukee, and other tributes from all over the country were being received by members of the bereaved family.
