With a total of .936 study cards for 1934-35 handed in from the Freshman class and 39 still outstanding, partial statistics from University Hall reveal that English will again be the most popular field of concentration, with 119 men enrolled. Economics, which last year was the third most popular field, has taken second place, with 107 men in the field, a gain of 15 over last year, while History has dropped to third place with 97, a decrease of 3.
The figures for the other popular fields are: the Biochemical Sciences 88, Government 74, Chemistry 57, and increase of 19, History and Literature 53. Romance Languages 45, 19 less than the year before, Mathematics 36, Physics 28, and the Engineering Sciences 24, a drop of 18. For the first time this year there is one concentrator in the Slavic languages.
