Fencers Defeat Providence To Capture Seventh Win

Displaying a powerful attack which completely overpowered Providence, the Varsity Fencing team defeated the Rhode Island men last night 16 to 1 in a meet held in the Indoor Athletic Building. The Crimson men marked up their seventh straight victory in winning the meet and appear to have a good chance to go through their schedule undefeated. Every man dueled exceptionally well and only one close match prevented the team from making a clean sweep of all the contests. The Freshman meet with the Providence first year men was cancelled.

Folls: Robert C. Ackerman '35 defeated White (P), 5-4, Downie (P), 5-4, and Clark (P), 5-0; John G. Hurd '34 defeated Clark (P), 5-1, White (P), 5-0; and Downie (P), 5-1; Philip E. Lilienthal '36 defeated Downie (P), 5-3, and Clark (P), 5-1. White (P) defeated Lilienthal, 5-4.

Epee: Webster F. Williams '35 defeated Clark (P), 2-1, and White (P), 2-1; Edward E. Langenau '35 defeated White (P), 2-0, and Clarke (P), 2-0.

Sabre: Edward A. Ackerman '34 defeated White (P), 5-2, and Clarke (P), 5-4; Richard Morgan '36 defeated Clark (P), 5-3; Morton Grant '36 defeated White (P), 5-2.
