"IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT" Keith's RKO
The Stage
"All Good Americans" Plymouth. Well acted comedy with Hope Williams and Fred Keating.
"The First Apple"--Shubert. A rather dull play replete with aged humorous platitudes. Conrad Nagel is better on the stage than he is on the screen.
"Hazel Kirke"--Peabody Playhouse. Not the best play in Boston, but it is the most finished one. Sally Fitzpatrick improves each week.
The Screen
"Paddy, The Next Best Thing"--University. "Sweetheart Darlin" in a faster tempo. Also "Ann Vickers" which fails to arouse much emotion.
"Little Women" R. K. O. Keith's. Jean Parker has a hot potato in her mouth. Joan Bennet is insipid. Frances Dee and Katherine Hepburn are adequate. However, the best sentimental film this year or any other year.
"Take A Chance" Paramount and Fenway. A very poor reproduction of a good musical comedy. Also "The Mad Game" with Spencer Tracy.
