Plans are now being made for Interscholastic Swimming Championships to be held in the Indoor Athletic Building Pool on February 2, 1935. This is the first time that Harvard has sponsored any schoolboy competition except in track and cross country, and marks an attempt to raise Harvard's prestige in swimming circles as well as foster interscholastic competition in the East.
Several weeks ago, invitations were sent out to leading Preparatory and high schools asking them to keep the date open on their schedules, and inviting them to send entries. The races will be held in two groups, Class A and Class B, for the preparatory and high schools respectfully. Already, many answers from swimming managers of the various schools have been received, including Andover, Mercersburg, Exeter, Huntington, Roxbury Latin, Hill, Lawrenceville, Taft, Worcester, Brookline, and many others in New England, New York, and Pennsylvania.
