DUELLING AND BOXING TOURNEYS TAKE PLACE

With 41 men already entered in the tournament, Coach Henry Lamar believes the University Boxing Championship, which will start tomorrow night, will be one of the largest and most closely contested tournaments of its kind ever to be held in the school.

Many of the probable winners have already entered. Mario Umana '36 appears the favorite in the 125-pound class, and Edwin C. Ihrig 2L, should win the 135-pound title the second consecutive time. In the 145-pound event Robert C. Bell 1L and Robert S. Russell '35 are favorites. Thomas T. McClure '36 will be out to win his second title in the 155-pound matches, and Robert H. Sears 2E.S., will be hard to beat in the 165-pound contests. As yet the 175-pound and the unlimited classes have received few entries, but Garrow T. Geer, Jr. '37 should excel in the former class.

Sabre and Epee Tournament Today

Fencers of the University made their first bid for the University Fencing Championship yesterday when the preliminaries of the foils event were contested in the Indoor Athletic Building. Today the sabre and epee contestants will try their skill in these events, and the finals in all three events will take place Wednesday, March 28.
