For the first time in several years the Freshman Red Book will have a definite office in which to carry on its work it was announced yesterday by C. Colmery Gibson '37, editor-in-chief of the year book. The office will be on the second floor of Phillips Brooks House.
From now on, according to Gibson, the meetings of candidates will be held by the individual boards. Franklin D. Roosevelt, Jr. '37, business chairman, will held a meeting for all business candidates in the Red Book office at 7.30 o'clock tomorrow night and Leavitt White '37 will see the prospective editorial men in the office at 7 o'clock Friday evening.
John Bowditch '37 will hold a meeting of the candidates for the photographic board on Thursday at 5 o'clock. It is not too late for new candidates to enter the competitions.
As was previously announced the Business Board will on March 1 raise the price of the Red Book, which is now $4.50. The first one hundred copies purchased will have the names of the owners engraved on the cover of the book free of charge. The Red Book committee urges that all Freshmen who have not yet had their pictures taken, please do so at Notman's Studio right away.
The board plans to make the expenses as small as possible this year. A smaller number of artistic pictures will be run because of the expense of the plates. In their place cuts and drawings made by the art board will be substituted as the cost of printing these is much less expensive. The arrangement of the individual pictures of the class may be changed to permit a larger number of men on each page, thus conserving space.
