Fesler's basketball quintet gets its big chance to win its first Intercollegiate League contest when it takes the floor against Columbia tonight at the Now Indoor Athletic Building. Columbia is the weakest of Harvard's opponents in the league according to the present standing, and the Lion has dropped three of four league tilts.
The Crimson team went through a disastrous mid-year period when Coach Fesler was unable to hold regular practices, and consequently the cagers lost four of five games to their opponents in the past three weeks. On Monday and yesterday, the team looked much better in practice, and the quintet seemed definitely improved in both the offensive and defensive departments of the game. Fesler will use the same first team which started the last game against Lowell Textile with the exception of Dick Fletcher, who will take the floor in Bill Henderson's place at guard. This starting lineup is the same which opened the Clark and M.I.T. games, and has shown the most team work of any combination which Fesler has tried.
