ALISTAIRE COOKE WILL DIRECT 1934 PUDDING PLAYERS

Mr. Alistaire Cooke, a Commonwealth Fellow from Cambridge University will direct the 1934 production of the Hasty Pudding Theatricals, it was announced yesterday by Francis Moore '35, president, and Matson Holbrook '35, manager. Mr. Cooke has been in this country two years, spending last year at Yale studying under Professor Baker, and this year at Harvard, working under Professor Murray. He has directed college musical productions in England and wrote the book, music and lyrics of a revue given recently at Cambridge. He has had connections in Hollywood, particularly in helping with the scenario for Mr. Chaplin's next picture. Mr. Cooke directed "Ever the Twain," the fall production of the Harvard Dramatic Club.

Mr. Cooke will direct the principals and the acting, and have general charge of the production. The dancing and chorus numbers will be directed by Mr. William Holbrook of New York, who is now putting on the Junior League Show in Providence.

Will Tour In East

The Hasty Pudding Show this year will take a trip through the East during Spring Vacation. The itinerary includes Providence, New York, Washington, and Hot Springs, Virginia. Three performances will be given at the club house before the trip, and one in Boston at the Repertory Theatre after the trip. Two performances will be given at Hot Springs, both in the theatre of the famous Homestead Hotel. The show will arrive at Hot Springs at the height of the spring resort season there.

The book and lyrics for the show are written by James Parton '34, Lee Howard '35, Charles Haas '35, Hugh Wade '35, and Francis Moore '35; the music by E. E. Stowell '34 and Francis Moore '35. Rehearsals will start about February 14th.
