The Harvard Freshman fencing team was defeated in its first match of the season by the Boston Y. M. C. A. 7-6 on Saturday afternoon in the Indoor Athletic building. The matches were all very close.

Shaner (H), 5-3, Lutz (H) defeated Gerber (H). 5-4; Lennon (H) defeated Bersenbrugge (H), 5-4: Fujine (H) defeated Shaner (H), 5-1; Lutz (H) defeated Bersenbrugge (H), 5-4: Fujino (H) defeated Lennon (H), 5-3; L. J. Le Boeuf (H) defeated Shaner (B), 5-2.
