Winthrop House Christmas Play to Be Given Tonight

Kempton Says Play Demands High Rate of Acting Ability

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Christmas play presented by the members of Winthrop House tonight will be "Jim Brent--Deserter," a piece written twenty years ago by an unknown Harvard student. The production will follow the usual weekly dinner.

Seeking to correct any erroneous impression which the CRIMSON may have given in its account of the play yesterday, Kenneth P. Kempton '12, director of the play, issued the following statement.

"In this morning's CRIMSON I was made to say that the Winthrop House Christmas play was purposely designed as crude affair for the reason that at Winthrop House we lacked capable actors and an appreciative audience. This is untrue. The play demands acting of a very high quality, and we have never lacked appreciation of our efforts."
