Harvard Still On Track To Reach Fossil Fuel-Neutral Status by 2026, Sustainability Report Finds
Rolling up a 45 to 12 score against a totally outclassed Tech five, the Harvard Varsity hoopmen walked through their second victory of the season in as many starts. High scorer for the Crimson was Leavitt S. White '37, starting his first Varsity game for the Feslermen. White, who was captain of last year's Freshman team, accounted for five goals from the floor.
Ernest A. Gray '37, sophomore center, was all over the floor again, and in the intervals when he was on his feet managed to slip in five points. On the defense his height and simian arms were potent stumbling-blocks for the Engineers, and his skill under the back-board prevented many enemy tallies.
Captain Dick Boys was moved to forward from the pivot post last night, a shift which presages the establishment of Gray as a regular. His height proved of assistance at this position, and he succeeded in caging two baskets and a free throw. Almost everyone on the squad saw action as the M.I.T. quintet wilted beneath the Crimson barrage.
Jim Grady, high scorer against B.U., was out last night with a aprained wrist, but it is expected that he will start against Providence tomorrow night.
Yearlings Win
In the preliminary game the Crimson yearlings routed the inexperienced embyro Bridge-Builders to the tune of 38 to 17. Arnold S. Litman '38, former Exeter all-class star, was the high scorer.
The summary: Score Harvard 45, M.I.T. 12. Goals Boys, Fletcher 3, Gray, Comfort 2, White 5, Lavieties, Ernst, Stepheuson, Kollinites, Demio, O'Brien, Smith, Gay, Garth Foula Grey, Kollinites, Fletcher, Moser, Denton, Gay.
