Harvard Students To Vote on Divestment From Israel in Inaugural HUA Election Survey
Fourty-four men will be voted on to fill nine Senior Class offices in elections which will be held today and tomorrow, December 11 and 12. The offices to be filled are: first, second, and third marshal, treasurer, ivy orator, odist, poet, and chorister. All nominees for these nine positions are listed below.
The balloting today and tomorrow will also determine whether the class constitution is to be ratified or not. The proposed constitution is reprinted on page four of this issue of the CRIMSON.
To vote in the election a man must either have entered with the Class of 1935, plan to graduate in June, or be eligible for the degree of A.B. or S.B. at this time.
Pictures of all the nominees for the offices will be posted at the polling places in Sever, Harvard, and Pierce Halls today and in Phillips Brooks House and the House dining halls on Tuesday.
The elections for class secretary, the permanent class committee, the class day committee, and the Album committee will not be held until Tuesday and Wednesday, December 18 and 19. The nominations for these positions will be made the Monday before the elections.
Twenty-one Juniors and 9 Sophomores will take two hour shifts at the polling places today and tomorrow. Braman Gibbs '36 and Robert S. Playfair '36 are in general charge of running the elections. The nominating committee, headed by Robert S. Cutler includes: Cesar L. Barber, Eliot D. Canter, Frank R. Littlefield, William C. McCarty, Frederick A. Webster, and William K. Wyant.
Voting Hours and Places
Monday: Sever, Harvard, and Pierce Halls--10 to 12 o'clock.
Tuesday: Phillips Brooks House--11 to 1 o'clock. House Dining Halls--12 to 2 o'clock.
Pictures of all nominees will be posted at the polling places.
