Cross Country Runners to Race in Annual Meet Friday

Varsity Squad Members Expected to Win in Spite of Handicaps

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The annual University Handicap Cross Country Meet will be held this Friday over the four and one half mile course along the Charles. While handicaps have not yet been announced, it is expected that veterans of the Varsity squad will capture the honors. Captain Charles F. Woodard '35, John P. Schen '35, Arthur S. Pier '35, and Robert S. Playfair '36 will be starting from scratch, and one of these men should break the tape.

Winner of last year's race was Eugene H. Walker '37, who crossed the line in 27 minutes, 43.4 seconds. John P. Schou '35 had the best actual time, but finished behind Walker because of the handicap award.

Friday's race will be the last before the Intercollegiates on November 19 at Van Cortlandt Park in New York.
