"HENRY IV" CHOSEN FOR ELIOT HOUSE XMAS PLAY

Professor Merriman Will Possibly Play Part of Falstaff

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

At a recent meeting of Eliot House members, "Henry IV" was chosen as the play to be produced in the annual pre-Christmas dramatization, the date this year being December 19. Production of the play will be supervised by Dr. Theodore Spencer, Instructor in English, and by Harry T. Levin '33, Junior Prize Fellow.

John C. Haggott '35, of the Harvard Dramatic Club, will be stage manager of the production. Rehearsals will begin on Monday, at which time a cast will be definitely selected.

A special feature of the play will be the appearance of Roger B. Merriman '96, Gurney Professor of History and Literature, and Master of Eliot House, who starred in the last performance. Professor Merriman's part has not yet been selected, but there is a possibility of his playing Falstaff. Though he has not the ideal figure for this part, it is believed that his stellar acting will more than compensate for this.
