HOUSE HOCKEY LEAGUE VOTED FOR BY COUNCIL

By a unanimous vote the Interhouse Athletic Council yesterday expressed itself to be in favor of the formation of a House hockey league, whether or not a rink is made available by the University. Adolph W. Samborski '25, Instructor in Physical Education and Director of Intramural Athletics, suggested that the Council should find out how strong a sentiment there is among members of the Houses in favor of the proposition. "I would like to see a league formed," he said, "and I think that hockey would prove to be, except for squash, the most popular winter sport."

The Council hopes to have the H.A.A. flood some accessible piece of ground, such as the Jarvis courts, and maintain a rink there for the use of the teams. Since the stadium, back in its earlier days, used to shelter the pucksters of the University from the wind, the possibility of flooding a part of it this year was suggested.

Any final decision on the matter, however, must come from William J. Bingham '16, Director of Physical Education and Athletics who will be unable to consider the problem until after the Yale game. If aid should not be forthcoming, the Interhouse Council would move for the formation of a league to play on any rinks that could be found about Cambridge.
